Dear Friends of Grant Evangelical
Free Church, On behalf of the congregation of the Grant E-Free Church, welcome to our site. We are happy to share our church with you. This is a special church family! We love God and we love one another. We exist for God's glory. We believe that God has created us to have a relationship with Him through knowing and loving Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. Our goal as a church is to bring God glory through vibrant, growing relationships with Jesus Christ. We strive to bring God glory through faithfully teaching His Word, through singing together, praying together, loving God together and loving one another. We consider ourselves desperate to know and enjoy God! Our focus is Jesus! Our treasure is Jesus!
We would love to have you visit us and worship with us. If you are in the Grant area—please join us in worshiping Jesus as Lord. If you have questions or would like encouragement to seek Christ as the One and only Savior and Lord—please call us; we would love to talk with you.
In Christ,
Russ Gaar
It is our desire to help visitors understand what it's like to worship in our church. Our services are characterized by a reverence for the Bible and the great doctrines of the faith, joyful corporate singing, and friendly interaction with one another and our guests. After you get a taste for our church by these descriptions, please come see us live them out as we gather together to praise our God.
Profile: Age-wise, we are fairly young with lots of young families. There are lots of children! Sunday morning attendance is between 150 to 200-plus people. The dress is very casual and relaxed. People are friendly; but, don't be afraid to introduce yourself
Music: Our morning service starts at 9:00am . The music we sing at GEFC is a blend of old and new. We love both the doctrinally rich hymns and the very best of the more contemporary praise and worship. We love to sing praises to our God! Scripture readings and prayer are part of the singing time. Most of our music is congregational singing, which emphasizes the body of Christ singing praises to God with one voice. We generally have one musical special on Sunday mornings.
Sermon: Preaching at GEFC is expositional, meaning that it seeks to declare the point of a particular Biblical passage. Pastor Russ generally preaches through books of the Bible; but also, preaches an occasional topical series. Sermons usually last between 45-55 minutes and are designed to move the heart and mind to know God and want God! All of the preaching (regardless of the passage or topic) points to Jesus and the Gospel.
After Service: A typical service is finished by 10:30am . We provide light refreshments in the Multi-purpose Room immediately after the service to encourage fellowship. At 10:45am , we begin our Sunday School time for all ages. Sunday School is a vital part of our discipleship program.
We Believe...
1. We believe that the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life.
2. We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into , where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Advocate.
4. We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.
5. We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit can Salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
6. We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as received Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God.
7. We believe that the water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.
8. We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is head.
9. We believe that only those who are thus members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church.
10. We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
11. We believe in the personal premillenial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this "Blessed Hope" has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
12. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
